Awesome Life

Awesome Slew is a black-type winner of $ 1,223,310 including winning the Smarty Jones Stakes. 

Awesome Slew is the sire of 3 crops of racing age, winning over 1 million plus in earnings, including recent Feb 24 Grade 3 Holy Bull Stakes winner Hades, Awesome Strong (4 wins $458,000), Tigre ($127,162), and Awesome Pic ($76,000).

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        November Update: Our 2 year old big, handsome colt, currently in south Florida training with Saffie Joseph Jr. for his first start. Most likely in late January. We will have weekly videos of his official workouts starting next week. Very exciting time for us as we start the countdown to his first race.

December Update:  1st work at Palm Meadows Training Track in Florida with Saffie Joseph Jr.  Awesome Life moved very nicely and the work was exactly what we were looking for. See video from 10Dec23 below.

January Update:  Awesome Life's initial workouts from Palm Beach Training Center were very impressive (see the "News" section for results and videos) and demonstrated the potential  that we hoped for when we purchased him. He is on track for his first start by the end of this month.

March Update:  This was a very nice month for Awesome Life. He has worked every 7 days since Dec and seems ready to start his first race in a couple of weeks. Looking to have a gate work for him and then plan for a race. Very exciting for us, as this I'll be the first race for OKeefe Stables!!

June Update- Since his initial race, he has come back and had two very strong workouts. June 22, (3F 35.9) 4th best of 37 horses and on June 28th an extremely fast time of (3F in 35.0) finishing 1st of 28 horses. He will run at Gulfstream Park on July 20th and head to Saratoga for an August race. We can't wait for his 2nd race and expect a great improvement.

​August Update-Awesome Life (3 yr old colt) raced on 24 August (Travers Day) and he showed some of the speed we were expecting from him. The race was his first on dirt and 2nd start overall. He broke quickly and went for the lead along with the 7/5 Chad Brown favorite. The mile was a little too long for his first dirt race as he tired halfway down the home stretch. This was our first race at Saratoga Racecourse and it was a great day for all of us. He came out of the race in great shape and just worked 4 Furlongs in 48.7 4th of 22 horses at this distance. Awesome's next race will be in a couple of weeks at Aqueduct. We look forward to him improving again and will be in a shorter distance that will greatly improve his chances for success.
