O'Keefe Stables June Update

Very excited to bring all the recent updates and changes for our stable. We were extremely fortunate to add a 2 yr old colt from the June Ocala Breeder Sales (OBS) to our stable. A handsome NY bred son of Galilean, his work prior to the sale was very impressive and we have him with our trainer Maxine Correa to prep for his first start at Saratoga this summer. Additionally, we added another win, this time by Cahira's Song, (see below) giving our stable a record of 8 starts and 3 wins.
Cahira's Song - Tremendous win for her on 30May25. She started out fast, went to the lead and they could not catch her. We added blinkers for this race and believe this was very helpful, letting her keep her mind on racing and not so much on what the other horses were doing. She is scheduled to race again on 05July in her first allowance race. If she improves a little from her last race, she will be very tough to beat.
MJ's Yoshida- After winning her first race by 12 1/2 lengths we entered her at Saratoga in an allowance race during Belmont week. We were very hopeful but with only her second lifetime start, we knew it was a big step up in class. Unfortunately, she stumbled at the start and then had a little trouble but finished 4th. However, she demonstrated that she belongs with this class and we can't wait for her next start around 10-15 July.
Galilean/2 yr old colt-not sure what we are going to name this guy but do not be surprised to see this horse come out running. He is built like a champion, is very mature mentally and has the breeding to be any kind of horse. As a NY bred we are hoping to have him ready for Saratoga this summer and we are excited to see him perform!!
Breeding Operations Mares and foals
High Speed Stef- Stef had her foal by Fire at Will, a 2 yr old Breeders Cup grass champion (see below). Now 2 months old she is growing rapidly and is enjoying life at Sequel Farms. Stef was mated again and will be delivering her next foal in April 2026, by NY bred leading sire Honest Mischief.
Camilla--Camilla had her foal by Fire at Will, a 2 yr old Breeders Cup grass champion (see below). This poor girl has had a few problems since birth (when delivered she had a cracked rib, hoof infection and then was kicked in the teeth by another foal)!! However, she is finally healthy and looks trendous, a little leggy but she is going to be a big one!
Well its been a great start for our stables. We now have multiple horses that during our first year we watched them grow and would hope they could run and compete at a high level. Now in the second year, we expect them to not only be competitive but win. We are in the process of updating okeefestables.com and will be completed in the next couple of weeks.
